Overview
If you need to back up your domain's DNS records or move them to another service, you can export a zone file directly from the Levamo dashboard. The export includes all current records for the domain in a standard, portable format.
Zone files exported this way reflect only the DNS records currently visible in your Levamo dashboard for that domain. Store the exported file securely, since it contains your domain's full DNS configuration.
In this article, you will find step-by-step instructions for exporting a zone file for your domain.
How to export a zone file
Step 1: Go to your domains
Log in to the dashboard and click the Domains tab.
Step 2: Open the domain's DNS records
Find the domain you want and click to manage DNS records for it.
Step 3: Open the Actions menu
On the DNS records page, click Actions at the top.
Step 4: Export the zone file
From the dropdown, click Export zone file. The file downloads to your device immediately.
Important information
The exported file only reflects DNS records managed within your Levamo dashboard. If your domain uses a different DNS setup, such as records managed directly at your registrar or elsewhere, those records will not appear in the export.
To bring records back in from a zone file, see How to Import a DNS Zone File.
